I loved, really loved the music and dresses of the movie Great Gatsby.

Ok, Redford was yummy enough to eat, too.

Now that divine 1920’s look is coming back, with Baz Luhrman’s remake of the film.

So, dear friends of LadyBohemia, dive into the fashion of the roaring 20’s, with Ralph Lauren taking the lead.

After all, it was originally Ralph Lauren who clad Robert Redford for his role as Jay Gatsby – and won the film an Oscar for best costume design.

I would take any of these, should somebody from RL happen to call…

But regarding the 2012 version of the movie… I’m apprehensive, even a bit scared of the idea of seeing it.

Because. How can there be a Jay Gatsby without Redford? Who could match his coolness, charm, vulnerability, the power and wealth he’d achieved, combined with his utter defenslessness when facing the love of his live?

Redford’s Gatsby an illusion so dear to me that I might just prefer hold onto it… After all, there can never be another Sundance either.

Remember?

There it is, the tragedy of Gatsby. A man desperately trying to hide his humble origins amongst the spoiled and idle rich.

Normally I try to find a silver lining on things and not wallow in excess negativity here in LadyBohemia. But please, allow me one exception to the rule.

Here goes.

I hate Daisy.
