Today I’m having a little adventure, just me by myself.

I’m in a new town, in a lovely hotel, about to have a bubble bath with a glass of champagne…

Have spent my day meeting the most interesting people, taken a million photos…

Dined in a beautiful restaurant, a gorgeous 3-course meal in peace and quiet, enjoying the sound of my own thoughts…

And after my bath, there’s still a concert in the cards for tonight, at midnight.

Hmmmm… Today feels like writing  little but special chapter to the book of life.

My life.

As summer and little dress season is approaching, I’ve gathered some ideas on how to add some ooompf to your favorite lacy pieces.

Things such as a cool turquoise pendant. Softest leather bag. Signature vintage ring. Those skinny jeans.

Like so (from the photo archives of Unjung Jun):

Hmmm… what a combo of leather and torn fishnet -look stockings:

You can accessorize your lacy dress with a handsome beau, and a coy smile…

Or maybe you’d prefer a cool hat and a good book instead:

And of course denim works, always.

Or quite simply, with just a little bit of skin:

MmmmmmMmm…

I think it’s time to dig out my little summer dresses from their winter hideaways.

A Monday when one wakes up to snow and slit – body in April, mind in spring – deserves something especially sweet.

And something so sweet indeed, downright humbling, has been captured in these pictures… When I stumbled upon them on fb I got lost in their peaceful and pristine world for a long time. And at lest my day felt instantly a little bit better.

So, with these pictures I wish you LOVE to your Monday.

~* One *~

Last week my husband Serge took me to the theatre, to see a play called GAY! at the National Theatre. The piece had been described as anarchistic and revolutionary but to my mind, it held a very familiar message.

We’re all different, yet equally valuable.

Shouldn’t that be… arrrr, clear to us all by now?

So. The idea of this play and this message as groundbreaking left me feeling a little sad. And a little upset at the world.

Humming my favorite U2 tune “One” on our way out helped, though…

As U2 always does.

For the most stunning spring/summer dresses have arrived in Hel!

To Susanna Penttilä’s Boutique Férrer, that it.

This little lacydream is made in Paris, of finest Italian lace from the fashion house Salvatore Ferragamo. Look at the form of the lace details on the decolté, and the hemline… I love, love, love it.

Color is a really beautiful shade of creamy beige, with just a hint of oldrosa… Perfect on my skin.

The only problem with this skirt is that its’ a little, öhm, short.

In fact, I’ve never dared to wear anything quite as short as this… Could I pull it off? The little flower petals delicately placed on the hemline are cheering me on…

Hihi… I must say, there aren’t many things in this world that make my clothes drop off as fast as the incoming flight of fashion from Paris.

Another piece that got my pulse racing was this cool & classy LBD:

I’d spotted this Sagaie dress earlier and posted it among my favorites of Sagaie’s s/s 2012 line – I loved it already on the catalogue but it is so much more… show-stopping in real life.

It’s low-cut but so skillfully tailored that it only comes off as elegantly chic…

Just look at this gorgeous detail of crystals and rhinestone:

These dresses are sold out as Suski only brings individual pieces to her boutique… But maybe you can ask for customorders.

PS. Make-up courtesy Armani, dangly pearl earrings custommade by  Fine van Brooklin.

My kids have been sick all week which means that I haven’t slept, had a rational thought or conversation, let alone set a foot outside… in a week.

So I turn to my favorite wise guy Viktor Egelund to make some sense of this chaos called life.

As usual, he’s there for me:

“The chance of anything is always 50-50. Either it happens or it doesn’t.

Just ignore statistics from now on.”

V.E.

As life at the moment feels more like a stumble than a stride, I find Viktor’s words oddly comforting.

If Carrie could get up after falling flat on her face… So can I.

And maybe. Just maybe next time the odds will be in my favor.

Everything in the universe has rhythm. Everything dances.”, says Maya Angelou.

I was thinking about this wisdom today as I took my son to school. And indeed. I’d never noticed it, but the leaves were dancing. Wind too. Little children definitely had rhythm and dance to their steps as they were hopping along.

The only thing that seemed to have lost all flow and rhythm was… me.

I was just slouching along, taking care of stuff that has to be taken care of. How boring. How tragically adult.

So now I’m off for a little walk on the sunshine. Let’s see if that would help me find some spring to my steps…

~* Serenaded *~

Today has been a real full-day serenade… It seems like the whole world has woken up to realize that it’s my birthday.

I’ve been spoiled, spoiled and yet again spoiled.

I’ll show you some photos of my day a little bit later – at the moment I’m still too busy living it…♥.

PS. So… My day started by Happy Birthday songs and breakfast in bed, continued by surprises such as theatre and restaurant, and a shower of sweetest gifts ever.

… And ended in the bath, surrounded by candle light.

At the end of my beautiful day the only problem in the world remaining was a rhetoric question:

“Is it real or imaginary, that champagne actually tastes better in a bath?”.

♥♥♥ Thank you, Thank you, Thank ♥♥♥
