This is a dress that speaks to me… It speaks Mediterranean, foam and waves of the sea, it whispers warm summer breezes, and although it comes from Italy, it is inviting me to my other home that is France.

Found in rainy slushy February of Helsinki, this dress is a promise of summer.

It needs to be taken in a little here, a little there, but who cares… As long as something can make me feel the softness of sun on my skin in the greyness of February.

Long walks on the seaside, jazz concerts on the Roman ruins, yummy dinners that go on for hours and hours with good friends,  brocante treasure hunting… All this is in the cards for me and my Afrodite of the sea white and gold dress next summer. In France.

It’s a promise.

PS. This dress was found from Quality Fashion at Galleria Esplanad – there’s still one black one left…

How often do you have a world class fashion designer design an individual, unique gown, based on your hopes, dreams, measurements and personal style?

Never, unless you’re Julia Roberts. Until today.

Kristina Viirpalu was here.

I’ll show you my inspiration for the dress we planned with Kristina a little later.

But as of today, of the (also unique) dresses available, this was my favorite. What say you?

This mermaid shape… Soooo difficult to find one that is actually flattering. This gorgeous piece of art was.

The tulle skirt under the crochet dress didn’t actually belong to it, but made a rather divine effect. I loved it just so.

D’Oro Press and Pr had invited some ladies who are looking for something special to wear for the President’s independence day reception – to choose a dress, or have one personally designed for them by Kristina.

Well well, unfortunately I haven’t quite caught Niinistö’s eye yet, but Kristina designed a dreamy piece for me regardless…  Based on the 20’s era that I so much admire, in cream and old rosa. MmmmmMmm…

My inspiration for The Dress came from this picture that I’ve snapped from an earlier KV Couture fashion show – the dress on the right was a dream of mine… And sold in 5 seconds, on that very evening.

By coincidence, I’d just worn a dress by Kristina at the Férrer / Funky Lady fashion show two nights earlier… I’ll show you that little number soon… It’s just perfect, short with uneven hemline, all black lace, a couple of leather flowers, adorned with black beads.

So nice it was to see Kristina again! Not only is she magically talented, she simply is the nicest person imaginable.

The blessings of being a blogger… You get to meet the most inspiring people.

Sometimes they even give you a hug.

This week has been crazy but wonderfully so. Every day, every evening filled with exciting events, interesting people, new experiences, beauty, fashion… champagne.

It was here, at a dinner hosted by the Champagne Association of Finland, that we got to hear a brilliant speech, bubbling with sparkling anecdotes… Such as that Marilyn described champagne as the air she breathes… How appropriate for a lady whose PJ’s consisted of Chanel perfume.

More on that event, on the fashion show celebrating 20 years in business of Férrer and Funky Lady, on the visit of Kristina Viirpalu, a two day photoshoot of LadyBohemia, my debut in a national newspaper… Very soon.
