I love my city.
And would you believe it, I live just two blocks away from this.
I must have done something so right in a previous life.

of being there, instead of here.
Just a little word from the land of neverending boxes… Everybody else has wisely and finally absconded to the countryside and I am left alone with heaps and piles of stuff to be moved, carried, stuck and stashed someplace. Uhhhhh I’m afraid that tomorrow morning at 07 AM the renovation guys will just take a look at my mess, turn away and leave… I would so gladly do just that…
So, as this Midsummer totally escaped and abandoned me, this picture made me ridiculously happy. Wonderful photographer Minna Kulmala, who has taken so many of the LadyBohemia photos, sent it to me with a little word:
“Made me think of you“.
Thank you Minna Sweetness, you captured it, as ever ♥.

A very sweet MidsummerNight’s Dream to everybody!!!!
This Midsummer, I do nothing but pack, pack, pack like a madwoman. Live amongst endless boxes, eat on the floor (kids love it), don’t manage to get out at all (nobody loves), see no end in sight. We’re not moving, but finally a Grand Renovation is about to start, everything must go into boxes. I didn’t even realize it was Midsummer before my mother – a fellow sufferer in my mess – pointed it out.
Uh I’m sooooooo ready for a dip in a lake… The smell of sea… Picnic, outside and not on my floor… Some actual fresh air.
Tomorrow? Please, pretty please.

I had the great honor to act as the Official Photographer at my darling friend Noora’s graduation.
So many beautiful memories from that day of sunshine. Will tell you later, now just a little taste of the beauty.
Mother’s speech, not a dry eye in the room.

The only thing of it that I can remember through my tears, is how the name Noora symbolises light in many cultures. Poignant.
Seba.
Listening to the warmest truest speeches ever, with Babaj.

Beautiful guests, and even a Piano Man. If ever there was a perfect party where everybody felt welcomed, had fun, laughed, cried and created memories, this was it.
Yessssssssss Bella u did it!
The great big world is out there. Now just go get it!!!
PS. And remember to remember me every time you curl that lioness mane of yours ♥.

Life is a blank canvas. You need to throw all the paint on it you can. – Danny Kaye –
Recently, I’ve stayed true to Danny’s teachings, splashing and throwing color around me so enthusiastically that the French expression “Quelle bazar!” (loosely translating into What a mess… ) has characterized my life and existence.
Let’s see how this philosophy fits in with the full house renovation I’m about to attack this summer… Right now I feel I wanna turn absolutely everything upside down. Give away so much from the past, let in some fresh air instead. Poor Heikki, my wingman and trustee with the renovation… He’s in for some turbulence. Luckily, he has the patience of an elephant and the soul of an artist. Both qualities will become handy this summer… Family, however, is wise. Every last man escaping to France for the full summer.
Despite all the bazar, I must confess that right now I prefer, even need to, get out of my comfort zone, no matter how messy it gets. And… Things are moving! There’s a lot of progress on my little plots and plans… I find myself waking up at night with ideas I just have to write down there and then… Or having night time dreams about my daydreams, the ones I can’t talk about yet… But let me just tell you this friends. This moving and shaking feels soooooooooooo good.

Ivory silk top with rose shaped deco in the front, from Paris. Fine, fine long leather 1920’s gloves, Garbo Vintage. Earrings from French antique market. Each piece as comfortable as my own skin :).
A little taste of things to come… I’ve been particularly active in treasure hunting. The determined pursuit of beauties such as these antique silver and marcasite earrings continues. But this time, not for myself..
Will keep you posted!
Many kisses,
from

A fun event I visited yesterday… Thank you Elle Magazine!
Ok, now heads up all you guys who read my blog… I know you’re out there… You can stop reading right about now.
This one is purely girly stuff.
I’m a bit of a sucker for real romance, so I was pulled right into those wedding jitters when tears came to Chris’ eyes, as he watched Madeleine walking down the aisle towards him… Ok, at that point, he had me.
The dress I found conservative and… kind of safe. Lacking that uuuumph wow factor we’re so often treated with by her. That being said, Madeleine is the most beautiful princess ever. And how Chris looked at her – nothing else really mattered.
Fine, that kiss wouldn’t make the knees melt, but he made up for it after, with the longest kissing scene in royal wedding history. Forgiven.
And again, so sweet that during the actual ceremony they held hands, Chris kept on fighting back tears, he asked her if she was tired, she checked if he was okay… So caring, so real. This wedding did it for me.
Some serious analysis on the all of it, by Mirva Saukkola, Teri Niitti and Anu Laapotti. Anu had just the most perfect dress; it suited her like a glove. By H&M Conscious Collection. And I’m sorry, my photo doesn’t do justice to Mirva’s head piece or earrings…. Royal stuff.
After the Ja and the I will, we needed to feel the sun of our skin… So lovely how even eveningtime, you can just bask in the sunlight. Please please make this last…

MY DRESS I’m so happy about. Never in my life have I worn anything green, but when I saw this beauty all my principles were out the window. This divine silk and lace dream is by Jasmin Santanen Couture.

Stylish guests… Bellissima.

My 1920’s inspired long pearl necklace, by Oona Elena Kassila. Emerald and diamond ring is a French family heirloom that has come to me after generations of mothers. I love the history it carries… Long silver and pearl earrings are an antique find from France, will get you a better picture later..

Okay once more… Just look at this artistry. All Jasmin’s creations are handmade, from the finest of materials, in Paris.

Girlyest of all girly afternoons… And now this happy camper is ready to head home, to face all the testosterone waiting there in the form my three guys ♥.

Ralph Waldo Emerson put it in words. Happy Jack lives it. Dear friends, please watch this. I promise it will change something within you.
Respect Happy Jack. And Thank You. For more than you know.
I am sending a little prayer to the Gods and Goddesses on your behalf… But somehow I know they are already watching over your shoulder.
Namaste.
My soul acknowledges your soul.

It’s been ages since I last picked up a blanket, a bottle of bubbly, my ladies, a mellowy summery mood, and spent a warm summer’s night in a park. Sooooo lovely.
Bubbly bubbly birthday girl ♥.
My Noora. She’s about to move an ocean away from us… And another ocean after that. AND she doesn’t ever intend to come back. I’m trying very hard to be an adult and support her as she so courageously follows her dreams… Lives the life of a true globetrotting world embracing heroine she has always been, inside her soul.
But here goes. Selfishly, I miss her. Already.
And just so… This little ex tempore idea turned into one of my treasured memories. Try it.
Summer is for living it out.
PS. The next day, I invited my kids to the park experience. We went for ice creams after school, and ate them sitting on the very same grass, in the sun. Funny how that way, even ice cream tastes so much better ♥.
I love my city.
